The Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series (pictured) debuts at 2013 Goodwood FoS
In case you hadn’t noticed, it’s the Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend and car makers are out in force with their fastest supercars and classics. Mercedes always offer a decent show at Goodwood and this year is no different, with the UK dynamic debut for the Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series, which will be strutting its stuff all weekend up the hillclimb. At the other end of the performance range, the Mercedes A45 AMG is also in action showing the crowds just what 360bhp in a compact hatch can do with its runs up the hillclimb.
The Lightweight Jaguar E-Type is reborn
Back in May we revealed Jaguar Land Rover’s new Heritage part of JLR’s Special Operations Division were planning to create six new Lightweight E-Types, the ‘Missing 6′ from the original production run in 1963. And now we get to see the first prototype. The new Lightweight E-Types will complete the planned run of 18 cars from 1963 – the Special GT E Project – using the remaining, unused, chassis numbers from the original run, effectively making these new E-Types able to compete in historic racing events.

2010 marks the 75th anniversary of Jaguar and a close look at the state of Jaguar after so long in the business of making cars sees it in better shape than at any time for the last forty years. The current range of cars – soon to be joined on the road by the new Jaguar XJ – is the best on offer for a generation, and there’s a new feel about Jaguar; confident; forward looking; innovative.
